About
Echo Steps — The Quiet Lab is an English-language puzzle game built with TypeScript, HTML Canvas and CSS. Your echo repeats your position four turns later. Only the echo can hold the gold switch; time your moves to cross its gate and reach the exit. Version 1.1.0 contains 15 handcrafted experiments with progressively longer solutions: learn the rules in the first puzzles, then plan increasingly demanding routes and timing. The downloadable ZIP includes a self-contained HTML game and a play guide. Unzip and open Echo Steps.html in a modern desktop or mobile browser. Internet and installation are not required after download. Controls: arrows or WASD to move; Space to wait; Z to undo. Touch users can use the on-screen movement bar or tap an adjacent tile. Each experiment offers up to 10,000 points; extra steps reduce efficiency, hints cost 1,000 points after confirmation, and undo costs 25 points. Scores and separate level runs are saved locally when the browser permits storage. Synthesized sound effects are enabled by default for new players and can be muted. Existing mute preferences are retained. No ads, analytics, accounts, subscriptions or in-app purchases. English interface. The download contains readable JavaScript bundled inside one HTML file. The original TypeScript repository is used for release verification and is not included in the buyer ZIP. This release runs in a browser. There is no in-game license activation or DRM. Local storage depends on your browser and file location; switching browsers may start fresh progress. Recommended: a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari browser with JavaScript enabled. The download is under 25 KB compressed.
