Connect a private Telegram channel to a Billixi membership. Billixi verifies both the bot permissions and that your Telegram account administers the exact channel.
Ownership verification stays private
Billixi never asks you to post a verification command in your channel. The wizard opens a private chat with @billixi_bot; Telegram then confirms that your account is an administrator of the selected channel.
1. Create a private channel
In Telegram, tap New Channel, choose a name, and select Private channel. Public channels with an @username cannot be used — Billixi needs a private channel so access can be revoked when a subscription ends.
2. Get your channel ID
Open the channel, forward any post to @userinfobot on Telegram, and copy the numeric id (starts with -100, e.g. -1004436663040). Forward from the channel itself — not from a linked discussion group.
3. Add the membership bot as administrator
In the channel, open Manage channel → Administrators → Add administrator and select @billixi_bot. Enable Invite users and Restrict members. Invite users is required for one-time access links; Restrict members is required for safe revocation after expiry or a full refund.
4. Verify ownership privately
In Dashboard → Products → Create membership → Telegram, paste the -100… ID and tap Verify channel. Select Verify privately in Telegram, press Start in the private bot chat, return to the wizard, and tap Verify channel again. Connected must appear with your channel name. The proof is one-time and expires; it is never posted in your channel.
After buyers purchase
Buyers open their Library, tap Connect Telegram, and start the bot with the link provided. Billixi binds their Telegram account and sends a one-time invite link to your channel. When the subscription expires, access is removed automatically.
Troubleshooting
- Channel not found — the bot is not an administrator yet, or the ID is wrong. Add @billixi_bot as an administrator, then use the -100… ID from @userinfobot.
- Bot not admin — open channel settings → Administrators and add @billixi_bot.
- Public channel — create a new private channel without a public @ link, or remove the public username from channel settings.
- Missing Invite users — edit the bot administrator permissions and enable Invite users.
- Missing Restrict members — enable it so Billixi can safely revoke access after expiry or a full refund.
- Verification expired or did not complete — return to the wizard, request a new private verification link, press Start in the bot chat, then verify again.
- Bot not configured on the server — contact support if you are on hosted Billixi; in self-hosted dev, set TelegramBot:BotToken in Payment API config.
